Past the point of no return?

January 10, 2014

I am a 90-year-old poor Southern Illinois country boy who has come to the conclusion that these United States have passed the point of the fall of the Roman Empire. In other words, this country has gone to hell in a bushelbasket.

It's all thanks to those non-God-fearing, ultra-liberal politicians, anti-Constitution and pro-United Nations. This includes politicians of both the Democratic and Republican Party and recent appointees to the Supreme Court and federal courts who do not rule according to the Constitution.

Congress does not communicate for the good of the country and its citizens, and the president has bypassed the Constitution and Congress. Lawmakers do not have the gumption to take appropriate action.

The Democratic Party of Harry S. Truman has to have a presidential candidate who is 100 percent American, 100 percent Constitution/Bill of Rights; has family values; integrity; credibility and is God-fearing. This goes for the Republican Party too.

Is it time for a third party of God-fearing people like our Founding Fathers?

Hopefully citizens will, read, listen, analyze and vote in 2014 and 2016 for candidates who are 100 percent God-fearing constitutionalists.

I am a Catholic and caretaker of my wife of 65 years; a World War II Army vet who spent 13 years in the Air Force Reserves, a life member of the VFW and American Legion and a retired Department of Defense employee. I am also an old Southern Illinois resident who is no fan of Chicago area politicians.
