What's out there: Heart trays, T-shirts and silicone spatula

January 12, 2014

Heart trays: It's never too early to plan a Valentine's Day meal. Not sure how this cute set of three acrylic trays got in the clearance section at JC Penney, but they're a bargain at $16.99 at the St. Clair Square store in Fairview Heights. Look for them on the first floor in housewares by the towels.

Fun T-shirts: When I grow up, I want to be a ... These clever T-shirts offer a variety of images kids can pretend to be, from Air Force officer and girl pirate to race car driver and dinosaur researcher. Each is $15.99 in sizes small to 2T at Kidd's at the mall. It's located upstairs by the main entrance and the escalators.

Spatula with measurements: Do you always have to check a cookbook or chart to find out how many teaspoons are in a tablespoon (three)? Martha Stewart wants to help. This red silicone spatula with a wood handle ($9.99 at Macy's at the mall) has a conversion chart at your fingertips, literally. It would make a great shower gift for a new bride. You'll find it downstairs in housewares; look for the Martha Stewart display.
