Kiwanis Electronic Recycling Day is Jan. 18

The Kiwanis Club of Fairview Heights will hold a Swansea/Fairview Heights Electronic Recycling Day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 18 at Grace Church, 5151 N. Illinois St. in Fairview Heights.

They will accept anything with an electrical cord, although battery-powered items also will be accepted. It's the perfect opportunity to rid your home of unwanted appliances, computers, printers, electric tools, wire, aluminum, coper, speakers, keyboards, mice, floppy drives, batteries, lawn mowers, trimmers, edgers and cell phones. Even old keys can be disposed of. Free.

A $5 processing fee is charge for each TV or moniture up to 19 inches; $10 for larger screens.

Proceeds will benefit Cub Scout Pack 585, Fairview Heights Food Pantry, the Bring Up Grades program, Boy Scout Troop 58 and more.

Note: This is a new location, and it will be held in any weather.
