The National Weather Service has dropped the possibility of snow from the Tuesday forecast.
But metro-east residents will experience a return to wintry weather in the form of plunging temperatures overnight.
Instead of snow, there is a 20 percent chance of rain in the forecast Tuesday. The best chance for rain comes between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. The high Tuesday will be 46 degrees. But wind gusts of 30 miles an hour will make it seem much colder.
Overnight, the low will drop to 22 and will only rebound to 28 Wednesday, when skies will be partly cloudy.
On Thursday, the high will make it to 43 with a low of 19 overnight. On Friday the high will be 25 with a low of 15.
