News-DemocratJanuary 16, 2014

Roads in the St. Louis area are slick Thursday morning thanks to an overnight dusting of snow.

There is a 60 percent chance of precipitation throughout the day Thursday with snow flurries and sleet in the morning, according to the National Weather Service. The high temperature is expected to reach 45, so it should be warm enough by late morning to turn the snow into rain.

A light covering of snow had fallen by 7 a.m. Thursday, coating area roads and yards.

On Thursday night there is a 30 percent chance of snow as the temperature dips to an overnight low of 15.

It will be much colder Friday with a high temperature of 24 and a 20 percent chance of snow before noon. Skies will become partly cloudy with a low of 16.

The forecast calls for a high temperature of 38 under sunny skies Saturday with a low of 22. It will be warmer and sunny Sunday with a high of 46.
