Extra enforcement: 96 tickets written over holidays

Alorton Police officers wrote 96 tickets for seat belt and child restraint violations during a recent enforcement campaign.

The Alorton Police Department issued the citations between Dec. 20 and Jan. 5 during its Christmas and New Year's Occupant Restraint Enforcement Campaign.

The Illinois Department Division of Traffic Safety provided funds to operate the extra enforcement, according to Alorton Police Chief Col. Larry C. Austell.
