A child with a toy gun caused a scare Thursday at a Millstadt School.
According to a letter sent home to parents from District 160 principal Josh Lane, a student brought the toy weapon to the Millstadt Primary center, a school for kindergarten through second grade students, and played with it in a multi-purpose room in front of other kids.
Lane said in the letter that, since the gun was not real, no one was ever in any danger. But he warned that this incident should serve as a reminder to parents to talk to their kids about what is appropriate to be brought to school.
School leaders didn't say if they would discipline the child who brought the toy gun to the primary center.
