ESLPD commendable at scene

January 23, 2014

I would like to commend the East St. Louis Police officers that arrived on the scene of an accident Christmas Day at 79th and Marybelle. Four police vehicles arrived on the scene of the accident including an unmarked car making sure his assistance wasn't needed. The officers blocked off the street when the tow truck and ambulance arrived. The professionalism the officers showed during the entire traffic accident was commendable considering the provocation of a man in a drunken stupor. It appeared that the officers were working hard to earn the respect, trust and confidence of the citizens. Hopefully, the elected leaders will take notice and follow their lead.
