The 4th Annual Chiro-Med Winter Luau 5K Run & the 2nd Annual Main Street Mile Run were both held Saturday morning at the Belleville campus of Lindenwood University. About 350 runners participated in the 5K event (3.1 miles) and many of them also ran the mile event about a half-hour after they finished the first run. The events were held to raise money for Special Olympics and Get Up & Go, which promotes a healthy lifestyle. Runners were also eligible for attendance prizes, and the first male and first female finishers in both runs won $100.
