Spend $64; make a job

January 30, 2014

Just $64 can make an impact this year. The average American will spend over $700 on gifts and goodies every year, totaling more than $465 billion, the National Retail Federation estimates. If that money was spent entirely on U.S. made products it would create 4.6 million jobs, imagine that! In reality that won't happen, but what if we took the first step? We all can make a difference this year with as little as $64. If each of us spent just $64 more on American-made gifts, the result would be 200,000 new jobs created. With millions of Americans still out of work, surely we can all do our part to help by buying American. Look at your labels and look into your hearts this year, and let's keep it made in America!
