Community invited to discussions on gender stereotypes

News-DemocratJanuary 31, 2014

Community members, parents of tweens, teens, young adults and health care professionals are invited to attend two discussions that address how gender stereotypes affect behavior in society.

The first discussion will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the O'Fallon Public Safety Building, 285 N. Seven Hills Road. The discussion will center around a video called "Tough Guise" that was developed by Jackson Katz and his look at masculinity.

Craig Macintosh, a Scott Air Force Base family advocacy therapist, will facilitate the discussions.

The second discussion will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10 at the O'Fallon Public Safety Building. The discussions are free and open to the public.
