Pair of Freeburg men accused of stealing copper from Ameren truck

A pair of Freeburg men have each been charged in connection with the theft of copper from an Ameren service truck in Belleville.

Kenneth R. Joffre Jr., 24, and Joshua V. Glaus, 26, were each charged with six felony counts of burglary. The theft occurred about 6 p.m. on Jan. 21 on West Boulevard.

The copper has been recovered and will be returned to the utility company.

Both men remain in custody in the St. Clair County Jail. Joffre's bail was set at $250,000 while Glaus's bail was $150,000.
