Edwardsville student's poster wins pizza party for her class

News-DemocratFebruary 3, 2014

A third grade class at Cassens Elementary School will have a pizza party Monday put on by Madison County States Attorney Tom Gibbons.

A student in the class, Isabella Trifiletti, earned the pizza for her class by submitting the winning anti-drug poster in the third grade category during the fall semester's Red Ribbon week campaign.

Fourth and fifth grade winners are expected to be held later this month.

Red Ribbon Week, which was created after the 1985 murder of a federal Drug Enforcement Agency agent by drug traffickers, is an anti-drug awareness campaign promoted by schools across the country. It was held Oct. 23-31 in 2013.
