According to Ameren Illinois, 546 customers were without electricity as of 810 a.m. At the peak of the outage at, nearly 1,700 people were without power.

Ameren spokesman Brian Bretsch said the issue is related to a transformer and that a crew is on the scene trying to fix the problem.
