House candidate Harold wins conservative group endorsement

News-DemocratFebruary 5, 2014

Erika Harold, the Urbana lawyer running for the 13th U.S. District GOP nomination, has received the endorsement of Family-PAC Federal, a leading conservative group.

"Erika Harold is just the type of leader who can represent Illinois families well in Congress and stand up for conservative principles, which are being attacked by some in the Republican Party today," according to a statement issued Wednesday by Paul Caprio, the group's director.

Harold, a former Miss America, is running against U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis, R-Taylorville, in the March 18 GOP primary.

The 13th U.S. House Disrict race is one of the nation's most closely watched. Its boundaries runs through parts of Madison County, stretching eastward across 13 other counties to Champaign.
