— A 29-year-old auxiliary police officer with the Cahokia Police Department has been charged with domestic battery.

Robert Whitworth, of Hanover Lane in Cahokia, was charged last week with domestic battery.

Police Chief James Jones said Wednesday that Whitworth was terminated from the department.

"We have recovered all of the police department's property," Jones said.

"He was arrested on Jan. 19 and released pending more follow up. He was charged on Jan. 31," Jones said.

Whitworth's bail was set at $25,000.

Jones said police received a call from a 19-year old female victim who was at a home on Hanover on Jan. 19. She reported a domestic situation.

The teen talked to police and the suspect was arrested.
