The new Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge over the Mississippi River at St. Louis will open for vehicular traffic on Sunday February 9. On Saturday, there was a day full of activities before the bridge was officially opened. The events began with a 6K run at 8 a.m., followed by a bicycle ride, pedestrians allowed to walk on the bridge, a parade of antique and military vehicles, plus a ribbon-cutting and speeches by politicians and the governors from both Missouri and Illinois. The bridge will shut down at 4 p.m. on Saturday, and then open for highway traffic around noon on Sunday.
