Police are investigating the death of a 42-year-old woman found dead Saturday inside a U-Haul van in South Roxana.

Frances M. Ragan, of 414 East Airwood Dr. in East Alton, was pronounced dead at 9:30 a.m. by Madison County Coroner's Office Investigator Shane Liley.

An autopsy did not reveal any indication of violence or trauma. Investigators plan further microscopic testing and toxicological testing.

South Roxana police are investigating numerous leads and are asking anyone who was with or spoke to Frances between Tuesday, Feb. and Friday, Feb. 7 to contact the police department at 254-7460.

So far none of her associates she had been in contact with during that time frame have come forward, according to police. Investigators have identified several people who were with her at that time and are in the process of locating them.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
