Still bitter cold: When will it warm up?

News-DemocratFebruary 10, 2014

The temperature will be bitterly cold Monday in the metro-east with a high of only 15, according to the National Weather Service.

A breeze from the north gusting at speeds up to 10 miles an hour will push the wind chill factor down to near zero.

Skies will be sunny early but clouds will increase as the day goes on. By Monday evening the low will be 1.

On Tuesday temperatures will again be frigid. The high will reach 19 under sunny skies with an overnight low of 7. But the area will finally see some relief from freezing temperatures later in the week.

On Wednesday the high will climb to 31. The low will be 20, warmer than the high of the previous two days. On Thursday the high is expected to reach 42.
