Theresa L. Terrie Voss, 54, of rural Carlyle died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at her home.
A funeral Mass was held on Feb. 10 at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Carlyle, with Father Larry Nickels, OFM, of St. Louis, Mo., officiating. Arrangements were handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland. She was born July 1, 1959, in Highland to Herbert B. and Irma A. (Wilke) Korte. Ms. Voss was born and raised in Highland and graduated from St. Paul High School in 1977. She later graduated from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 1997, with a bachelors degree in psychology. She worked 35 years at Murray Center in Centralia, 24 years as a technician, and from Sept. 11, 2001, until she retired in May 2012, she worked as a rehabilitation coordinator. She enjoyed water sports, including boating, swimming and canoeing. She also enjoyed embroidery, spending time with her grandchildren, and collecting eagles.
She was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church in Carlyle and former member of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) union. Survivors include her parents, who live in Highland; daughters, Stephanie L. (Stacy) Nattier of Hoffman, Amanda R. (Jeremiah) Jordan of Carlyle and Erin T. (Chad) Self of Carlyle; grandchildren, Alyssa and Madison Nattier of Hoffman, and Ella Jordan of Carlyle; step-grandchildren, Sheridan and Erin Jordan of Carlyle; brothers, Timothy S. Korte of Highland, Theodore H. (Toni) Korte of Mason, Ohio, and Craig J. Korte of Madison, Ala.; and a sister, Tammy M. (Ken) Keltner of Highland. Memorials may be made to the Murray Parent Association or to a charity of the donors choice.
