A 40-year-old rural Granite City man is facing charges after he allegedly fired a gun at his teenage stepson during a domestic dispute.

Trevor O. Bone, of 5140 Lakeview Drive in Granite City, was charged Monday with aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated domestic battery.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office responded to Bone's residence at just after 2 p.m. Sunday. When deputies arrived, they met with a teenage occupant of the home.

The teenager told deputies that his stepfather -- Bone -- fired a handgun at him during a family disturbance, according to police.

Police said Bone was involved in physical disturbance with his wife, who is the mother of the teenager. At one point during the disturbance Bone allegedly began strangling his wife, police said. The teen son pulled Bone away from his mother, according to police.

Bone and the teenager then began arguing with one another. During the argument Bone armed himself with a .357 magnum handgun. Bone fired two shots toward the teenager while outside the home. No one was injured by the gunfire.

Bone is being held in Madison County Jail in lieu of $100,000.
