Office Max opens at Fairview City Centre

Office Max has opened its new store at the Fairview City Centre on the northwest corner of North Illinois Street at Lincoln Trail in Fairview Heights. The number there is 397-9587. Construction on a Fresh Thyme Farmers Market organic grocery store and HomeGoods home furnishing store will soon begin at the retail redevelopment. Stay tuned.

Glamour Fashions & More has just opened in Collinsville and sells purses, wallets, jewelry scarves, hats and other accessories. You can find them at 116 N. Bluff Road, Suite B, or call them 346-2014 to find out more.

The building that houses the Ramada Inn and TGI Friday's restaurant in Fairview Heights will son be demolished so the restaurant can build a new building nearby.

The current building at 6900 N. Illinois St. will be torn down. Construction of the new restaurant will begin sometime this spring and is expected to open by August.

The $3 million project will include the 8,800-square-foot restaurant and 157-space parking lot. Additional space will also be reserved for a possible new hotel development. TGI Friday's plans to retain its 26 employees and add another 20 workers.

Dameon Christian has opened a floral shop in Belleville. Zadabug's Creations by Christian is located at 9821A W Main St.. Call the flower shop at 398-7673.

The folks from Jacob Sunrooms in Fairview Heights say they have expanded their horizons. The business at 9723 W. Illinois 161 has partnered with local tub and shower line distributor Liners Direct to open a new division of these products that convert their old tub space into a new one. Jacob Sunrooms, which has another showroom across the river at 11711 Gravois Road in Sunset Hills, Mo., has been installing sunrooms, siding, windows, roofing, decks, gutter systems, exterior doors and retractable awnings for over 37 years. And finally, a groundbreaking ceremony is planned for the new Memorial Hospital-East campus in Shiloh on March 9. Construction is already under way at 1404 Cross St. The new $124 million, 94-bed, five-story hospital is anticipated to open by July 2015.
