Columbia police ask for help in search for fugitive

News-DemocratFebruary 24, 2014

Columbia police are asking for help in tracking down a fugitive who managed to escape from officers who claim he was driving a stolen pick-up pulling a trailer full of stolen construction equipment at the time.

Jeremy L. Davis, 36, was last seen Feb. 20 in a 2011 Ford F-250. He recently lived on Deerpath Lane in Waterloo but is believed to currently reside in St. Louis. Officers were able to contact him over the phone and Davis promised to turn himself in but has not done so as of Monday, Columbia Police Chief Joe Edwards said.

According to police, Davis is considered to be dangerous to the public because he knows he is wanted and he endangered the safety of the public during his previous escape.

Anyone with information about Davis is asked to call the Columbia Police Department at 618-281-5151.
