Couch to 5K meeting tonight at Belleville Parks and Recreation

February 24, 2014

The Belleville Running Club's 2014 Couch to 5K program kicks off March 3 at the Belleville East High School track.

An informational meeting will be held at 6 p.m. tonight, Feb. 24, at the Belleville Parks and Recreation Department, 501 W. Main St.

The nine-week program is for novice and new runners to steadily train to complete a 3.1 mile race. Runners will meet at 6 p.m. every Monday through April 28 at the school track.

The sixth annual training program aims to help participants run the Law Day 5K Run May 3 in downtown Belleville. Last year, more than 100 people participated.

The running program is open to all ages. It costs $10 person, which includes training and a T-shirt.

If you're interested in signing up, visit http://bellevillerunningclub.com/training-beginner/, attend the meeting or show up for the first session March 3.
