News-DemocratFebruary 25, 2014

Snow and cold are back in the forecast Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Flurries are expected after noon with a high temperature of 35 degrees. It will seem even colder thanks to northwest winds that will gust up to 21 miles an hour.

There is a 30 percent chance of snow overnight. No significant accumulation is expected. The low Tuesday night is expected to drop to 10 and winds will blow even harder with gusts increasing to 25.

On Wednesday the high will reach only 26 degrees. That's 22 degrees cooler than the average high temperature for late February in the St. Louis area, 48. The low will be 13.

The deep freeze appears to be here for the balance of the workweek. On Thursday the high is expected to be 25 with a low of 12. On Friday the high is expected to be 32 with a 50 percent chance of snow.
