Winter won't quit: Snow, sleet expected as calendar turns to March

The temperature was 25 degrees in Belleville at sunrise Thursday. And that's about as warm as it's going to get all day.

By noon the temperature is expected to drop to about 20, according to the National Weather Service. In the mid afternoon the mercury will rebound to 22 under sunny skies.

Overnight Thursday into Friday the low will drop to 12.

A 60 percent chance of snow is in the forecast for Friday with the flakes expected to start to fall in the afternoon. Less than an inch of accumulation is predicted. The high will reach 36 with wind gusts up to 23 miles an hour.

Partly sunny skies with a high of 38 is forecast for Saturday. But a 70 percent chance of snow and sleet moves into the area during the evening hours and lasts throughout the day Sunday. The high will be 24 and the low 13.
