An upcoming fundraiser will benefit the O'Fallon Township High School Marching Panthers who are raising money for their trip to Pasadena, Calif.
The marching band is among 20 scheduled to perform in the 2015 Rose Parade. Others invited include bands from Japan, Hawaii and Denmark, Tournament of Roses President Richard L. Chinen said Thursday.
Invitations are issued based on the bands' marching abilities, entertainment value and musicianship. In addition to marching more than five miles in the parade, the Marching Panthers also will be part of a band festival at Pasadena City College.
The band members must raise all the funds for their travel.
The Marching Panthers will benefit from a fundraiser at the Texas Roadhouse Restaurant, 1412 Central Park Circle in O'Fallon. The fundraiser begins at 4 p.m. Monday, March 24. A portion of sales that night will go to support the band's trip.
