It is without hesitation that I enthusiastically endorse state Sen. Kirk Dillard to be the next governor of Illinois.
Kirk is a tested, proven leader and the only one who doesn't need on-the-job training. His legislative experience and prior service to former governor Jim Edgar are exactly what we need in a new chief executive. Kirk is the only candidate with the preparedness and vision to turn around Illinois.
With the support of former governors Jim Thompson and Edgar and Rep. Dwight Kay and the unanimous endorsement to 2013-2014 "conservative summit," Dillard is the only candidate who enjoys widespread support from both established policy makers and the grassroots wings of the Republican Party.
Dillard has been a tireless advocate for Illinois' competitiveness; he knows that our tax rates, business regulation and tort system are all impediments to growing the private sector. I believe firmly that he is the best choice to help lure jobs into Illinois and grow our economy.
Having served more than 30 years on the Madison County Board, I know that experience matters. Dillard's experience in both the public and private sector mean that he'll be ready to lead from day one.
Do your part to help fix Illinois and join me in voting for Dillard.
