Washington Park man sentenced to 33 months for dealing cocaine

A Washington Park man was sentenced to nearly three years in prison for distributing cocaine.

Michael Scott, Jr., 41, was sentenced Thursday in federal court in East St. Louis to 33 months in prison on one count of cocaine distribution, according to U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois Stephen R. Wigginton.

In addition, Scott was sentenced to five years supervised release, fined $500 and ordered to pay a $100 special assessment.

In July Scott pleaded guilty to selling 28 grams of cocaine base to a confidential informant in Washington Park, at the direction and arrangement of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms and Explosives agents.
