Donations to the Community Interfaith Food Pantry go farther during April thanks to a competitive grant.

The more cash and canned goods donated through the end of April, the bigger the local share of $1 million from the Feinstein Foundation. Last year the local pantry received $486 from the grant.

Donations may be made at the Community Interfaith Food Pantry, 205 W. B St., Belleville, IL 62220-1331. The phone number is 618-416-7289 and the pantry is online at feedbelleville.org.

Donations are also being accepted at the following Belleville churches that are members of the pantry: Christ United Church of Christ, First United Presbyterian Church, Queen of Peace Catholic Church, St. Matthew United Methodist Church, St. Luke Catholic Church, St. Teresa Catholic Church, Signal Hill Lutheran, St. Paul United Church of Christ, Trinity United Church of Christ and Westview Baptist Church.
