Warm-up is on the way -- but how long will it last?

The high temperature Thursday will edge closer to normal in the metro-east.

According to the National Weather Service, it will reach 46 degrees during the afternoon hours under mostly sunny skies. The average high temperature for March 6 in the St. Louis area is 52 degrees.

The overnight low will drop to 27. But on Friday the temperature will reach a high of 58, finally breaking the cold spell that has gripped the region.

The high is expected to be 46 Saturday with a chance of light snow in the morning, which will turn to rain as the mercury climbs toward a high of 46.
