BND wants to hear your opinions on Grant School District referendum

News-DemocratMarch 7, 2014

Grant School District 110 in Fairview Heights is asking taxpayers in its district to approve an 85-cent tax rate increase via a referendum on the ballot March 18.

If approved, the tax rate would increase from $1.42 to $2.27 per $100 of assessed valuation. For the owner of a $100,000 house, Superintendent Matt Stines said the tax increase would cost about $8.25 a month.

If the referendum fails, Stines has said the district would dissolve.
