Metro-east residents on Monday and Tuesday will finally get a long-awaited taste of spring. But snow is back in the forecast by the middle of the week.
The high temperature will reach 71 degrees under mostly sunny skies Monday, according to the National Weather Service forecast. The temperature will drop to 42 overnight. But it will rebound to 72 Tuesday when skies will again be mostly sunny.
Things will change dramatically Tuesday evening, however, as showers and strong winds move into the area. The wind will gust up to 30 miles an hour.
There is a 40 percent chance Wednesday morning that the overnight rain could turn into snow. But the high temperature of 42 will put a stop to any snowfall by early afternoon. No accumulation is expected.
