Look for a chilly change in the weather as the National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory until 10 a.m. Wednesday.
The forecast calls for northwest winds at 20 to 30 mph and gusts up to 50 mph.
All of this is a dramatic drop from Tuesday when the temperature hit 81 at St. Louis Downtown Airport in Cahokia -- nearly breaking the record high for the day.
The high on Wednesday expected to be 39 with a chance of rain and snow before 8 a.m. and then a chance of snow between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m.
Less than half an inch of accumulation is expected. But the snow could make the morning commute slippery Wednesday.
The high Tuesday was short of the all-time record high for the day -- 85, set in 1972 -- according to the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration. The average high temperature for March 11 is 54.
The temperature will rebound to a high of 58 Thursday under mostly sunny skies and 61 on Friday.
