Swansea man gets 6-month sentence for theft of jobless benefits

A Swansea man has been sentenced in federal court to six months in prison for theft of unemployment benefits from the U.S. Railroad Retirement Board.

Mark A. Lewis, 31, was ordered to pay $1,995 in restitution after fraudulently concealing his employment status to receive unemployment benefits from January 2013 to May 2013, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Lewis also was convicted of violating the conditions of a supervised court release.
