The temperature will rebound Thursday in the metro-east after cold weather and snow flurries were an unwelcome guest 24 hours earlier.
The high Thursday will reach 60 degrees under sunny skies, 20 degrees warmer than the high Wednesday. The average high temperature for March 13, according to the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration, is 55.
While it's a welcome warm-up, the temperature will fall well short of the record high of 86 set two years ago.
The low Thursday night will drop to 40. On Friday the high will push up a little bit more to 65 under mostly sunny skies. The overnight low will drop to 39.
On Saturday it will be 62 and mostly sunny. But there is a 30 percent chance of rain in the forecast for Saturday night when the temperature will fall to 37. Then things will get rough again.
On Sunday, the forecast calls for a 40 percent chance of snow before 10 a.m., with a high temperature of 44 degrees later in the day.
