Road construction: Work planned in metro-east

A weekly listing of road construction in St. Clair, Madison and Monroe counties and in the St. Louis area. Of special interest this weekend are closed exits from Interstate 64 into St. Louis on Saturday to accommodate St. Patrick's Day festivities.



Illinois 15 from Illinois 159 to Green Mount Road, lane restrictions through 2014.

Illinois 158 closed from Gerri Ann Drive to Guetterman Drive through May 15.

Ramps to westbound Illinois 15 at Illinois 158, and from Illinois 158 to westbound 15, closed until May 15.


Interstate 64, lane restrictions at Interstate 255 until June 1.

Interstate 255 between mile posts 19-20, lane restrictions until June 1.


Interstate 255 between Collinsville Road and Horse Shoe Lake Road, lane restrictions through May 30.

Illinois 159 lane restrictions from Clay Street to Belt Line Road through Nov. 30, 2017

East St. Louis

Northbound Illinois 3 ramp to Interstates 55/64/70 permanently closed.

Interstate 64 has lane restrictions from 18th Street to Illinois 111 in both directions.

Fairview Heights

Interstate 64 and U.S. 50 lane restrictions from Exit 9 to Exit 16 through April 11.

Granite City

Interstate 270 lane restrictions both directions from Chain of Rocks Canal to Illinois 3.

Illinois 3, lane restrictions from Pontoon Road to Illinois 143 through June 2.


Illinois 4 at Perrin Road, lane restrictions for intersection work from March 17 through May 31.


Illinois 143 from US 40 to Sugar Creek, traffic will be reduced to one lane and controlled by temporary traffic signals through Oct. 1

Pontoon Beach

Interstate 270 from Illinois 3 to Interstate 55, expect delays with lane restrictions in both directions through Aug. 1.


Illinois 156, lane restrictions at Lakeview Drive through 2016.

Illinois 3, lane restrictions from Vandebrook Drive to North Market Street through 2016.


Ongoing closures:

I-44, St. Louis City, Walnut over I-70 is closed until April.

I-64 at Vandeventer, St. Louis City, the Vandeventer ramp to westbound I-64 and the eastbound I-64 exit ramp to Vandeventer are closed.

I-64, St. Louis City, drivers have three shifted 10-foot lanes in both directions between Newstead and Boyle until summer 2014. The right lane of eastbound I-64 exits at Kingshighway.

Saturday, several exits from Interstate 64 will be closed in St. Louis to accommodate the St. Patrick's Day festivities. Those are:

I-64, St. Louis City, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., the eastbound exit to 20th/Chestnut Street will be closed.

I-64, St. Louis City, 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., the eastbound exit to 6th Street will be closed.

I-64, St. Louis City, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., the westbound exit to Market Street will be closed.

I-64, St. Louis City, 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., the Broadway Street ramp to westbound I-64 will be closed.
