What qualifies you for this position?
Since graduating from Harvard Law School, I have worked as an attorney and represented businesses of all sizes in commercial disputes and advised religious institutions in matters involving First Amendment protections. This private sector experience in both business and Constitutional matters will equip me in upholding the Constitution and protecting businesses from overregulation in Congress.
For the past several years, I also have served on the board of directors of Prison Fellowship, the world's largest outreach to inmates and their families. This service has provided me with insights regarding reforming our criminal justice system and reducing recidivism rates.
What is the top issue in your race, and how would you address it?
My No. 1 priority would be to pursue fiscal policies that create a climate conducive to the expansion of businesses and job opportunities within the 13th District. These policies include: a regulatory framework that does not inhibit innovation or create excessive layers of bureaucracy; a modernized and streamlined tax code that does not increase the tax burden on individuals and businesses, and a strategic plan containing quantifiable benchmarks to reduce our national debt and indebtedness to foreign entities.
Congress must take seriously its responsibility to pursue fiscally sustainable policies and can no longer continue passing debt down to future generations.
