Politicians at high-level meeting with Air Force at SAFB

Politicians held a press conference at the Scott Field Heritage Air Park on Friday afternoon for local media following their on-base meeting at Scott Air Force Base with members of the military, including U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Welsh (who did not attend this press conference). From left: U.S. Congressman Bill Enyart, Illinois Lt. Gov. Sheila Simon, St. Clair County Board Chairman Mark Kern, U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin, U.S. Senator Mark Kirk, Madison County Board Chairman Alan Dunstan, and U.S. Congressman Rodney Davis. Welsh is the senior uniformed Air Force officer responsible for the organization, training, and equipping of 690,000 active-duty, Guard, Reserve, and civilian forces serving in the U.S. and overseas.
