Garden Ridge getting new look and name

An O'Fallon store that has helped local consumers redesign their homes is undergoing its own remodeling.

Garden Ridge at 1287 Central Park Drive and the home decor retailer chain's two stores across the river in Bridgeton, Mo., and Fenton, Mo., are being redecorated. The remodeling has been underway for the past few weeks and the store has remained open during the project. The chain will also be renamed At Home.

Waterfall Restaurant has opened in O'Fallon. The new eatery at 1333 Central Park Drive features a buffet and a menu of Italian, Greek and American food. To reach the restaurant, call 618-632-4088.

Impact Strategies has begun building Fresh Thyme Farmers Market at Fairview City Centre. The Fairview Heights-based construction company anticipates the organic grocery store to open by this fall at the redeveloped retail center at Lincoln Trail and North Illinois Street in Fairview Heights. Petco, Office Max and Sports Authority are operating stores there. Home furnishing retailer HomeGoods will also build a store at the shopping center.

Another smokeless tobacco retailer has opened in the metro-east. Smoke Clean Vapors has recently opened at 5200 N. Illinois St., Suite 108, in Fairview Heights. The business carries a full line of vapor products and accessories. Call 618-277-6653 to learn more.

A storage complex in Shiloh has expanded with new storage space open for customers. Safe Lock at 215 Lebanon Ave. has added 170 new units, including some climate-controlled ones. For more information, call 618-222-8181.

Barradas License Services in Belleville has recently relocated from High Street to Illinois 159 in town. You can now find the licensing service at 1429 N. Illinois St. The business opened a year ago and provides license plates, titles and license plate stickers. Barrades also has bilingual service, so they can communicate with both English- and Spanish-speaking customers. Bump 'N Grind Coffee will not be returning to Belleville. The business had brewed and sold coffee from a truck in the parking lot at Sullivan's Bar at 907 N. Illinois St. last year before closing for the season last fall. The owners have decided not to return for another season.

Family Eye Clinic at 724 St. Louis Road in Collinsville has closed. The optometrist office served clients in the Vision Source network.

And finally, Apple Vacations was recently honored at Ambassador Travel and Cruises in Belleville at Apple Vacations' annual Golden Apple Dinner for its service. The travel agency at 312 E. Main St. has been serving metro-east travelers for 40 years. You can call them at 618-234-1046.
