Firefighters battle early morning blaze in Alorton

Investigators are trying to determine the cause of an early Monday morning fire that damaged a home in Alorton.

According to fire department reports, the blaze happened in a vacant house in the 3600 block of Market Avenue. It was reported at about 2:30 a.m.

The home was severely damaged. Flames broke through the roof and at one point could be seen shooting high into the air.

Firefighters said no one was injured battling the blaze.
