After weeks of below-normal temperatures in the metro-east, the mercury will finally be where it is supposed to be this week.
On Monday a high temperature of 73 is forecast for the metro-east under mostly sunny skies.
It will be windy with gusts of up to 35 miles an hour expected, according to the National Weather Service. Clouds will move in later in the day with a slight chance of scattered thunderstorms. The overnight low will drop to 43.
On Tuesday the high will be 60 degrees. Skies will be mostly sunny during the daytime hours with 5-10 mph winds out of the west. Thunderstorms are likely Tuesday night when the low will be 47.
The wet weather is expected to hang around, with a 70 percent chance of thunderstorms on Wednesday and Thursday.
The high Wednesday will be 67 and on Thursday it will be 70. The average high temperature for this time of year in the St. Louis area is 63 degrees.
