Three injured in accident on I-64 near O'Fallon

Three people were injured Thursday night when a Jeep pulling a camper overturned on Interstate 64 a mile east of Illinois 159.

According to Illinois State Police spokesman Calvin Dye Jr., the Jeep was headed westbound and blocked two lanes of traffic for about an hour while its occupants were rescued and the mess was cleaned up.

Preliminary police reports did not indicate what caused the accident.

The three people in the Jeep were transported to area hospitals for treatment of minor injuries.
