Edwardsville's Dunbar first-team all-state

Edwardsville senior and University of Tennessee recruit Kortney Dunbar was a first-team all-state selection on the Champaign News-Gazette's 37th annual Girls All-State Basketball Team.

The 6-foot-2 guard averaged 17.7 points and finished her career as Edwardsville's sixth all-time leading scorer with 1,205. The Tigers were 118-5 with Dunbar in the lineup.

Central's 6-2 sophomore forward Kendra Wilken was a second-team all-state selection after averaging 17.1 points and 7.9 rebounds for a 31-1 team.

Special mention all-state honors went to Edwardsville senior Aaliyah Covington, Belleville West junior Shay Fluker, Nashville junior Jordi Harre, Red Bud senior Ali Ringering and Central senior Maddie Timmermann.

Voted honorable mention all-state were Belleville West junior Imani Berry, Gibault senior Kendra Davis, Central senior Torre Kohrmann, Highland junior Olivia La Porta and Belleville East senior Montira Mosby.
