Township supervisor should do the hiring

April 4, 2014

Sometimes the gall of some people amazes me. Caseyville Township Trustee Richard Donovan at the Dec. 12 board meeting moved to hire Carol Clark (a member of the St. Clair County Board) as the administration office supervisor. Trustee James Lemansky seconded the motion.

Donovan, Lemansky and Trustee Don Chrismore moved to hire. Supervisor Bruce Canty and Trustee Dorothy Moody opposed.

Donovan has no duties that involve the day-to-day operation of the township. Yet he took it upon himself to hire a supervisor for that job.

Stop, back up, he is just a trustee. He doesn't have knowledge, expertise or authority.

Canty is in that office every day; the person beneath him in authority is his choice, not Donovan's.

This political hire is just one more of the Donovan, Lemansky and Chrismore gang's moves to control the township totally.
