More all-state basketball honors for local players

Edwardsville High School senior Armon Fletcher was the lone metro-east selection on the first team with the Champaign-Urbana News-Gazette's 82nd annual Boys Basketball Team.

The 6-foot-6 senior and Southern Illinois University Carbondale recruit averaged 17.1 points and 13.3 rebounds for the Tigers (30-4), who were fourth at the Class 4A state tournament.

Edwardsville senior guard Shawn Roundtree was a second-team all-state selection. Roundtree averaged a team-leading 17.3 points and 8.1 assists.

Making the News-Gazette All-State Special Mention 50 were Cahokia senior Darius Austin, O'Fallon junior Donovan Franklin, Nashville sophomore Royce Newman, Belleville East senior Darreon Reddick and Central senior Jacob Timmermann.

Listed on the News-Gazette All-State Honorable Mention 100 were East St. Louis senior Darrion Beane, Edwardsville senior Trevor Clay, Freeburg senior Justin Diecker, Okawville freshman Noah Frederking, Althoff sophomore Brendon Gooch, Althoff freshman Jordan Goodwin, Carlyle senior Matt Hilmes, Central sophomore Logan Kohrmann, Marquette senior Deion Lavender, Alton senior DeTae McMurray, New Athens senior Tyler Meyer, Cahokia senior Carleton "C.J." Rivers and Alton senior Mike Williams-Bey.
