Rain expected to go away in time for Cardinals home opener

News-DemocratApril 7, 2014

The bad news is that there is a 90 percent chance of rain Monday.

The good news, if you're a St. Louis Cardinals fan, is that the wet weather is expected to move out of the area in time for the team's home opener at Busch Stadium.

According to the National Weather Service, the rain is expected to end before 3 p.m. The Cardinals game is scheduled to start at 3:15 p.m.

While the rain is expected to cooperate, the game time temperature will be pretty chilly. The high Monday is expected to reach only 51degrees and wind gusts of up to 17 mph will make it seem even cooler. The average high temperature for April 7 in St. Louis is 65 degrees.

Overnight the low will fall to 42. But the temperature is expected to warm up as the week goes on.

The high Tuesday will be 58 with a 30 percent chance of rain. On Wednesday the high will be 64 under sunny skies. On Thursday it will be sunny with a high of 75.
