A woman was transported to a St. Louis-area hospital Sunday night after her car ran off the road and she was ejected from the vehicle.

Illinois State Police Trooper Calvin Dye said the 30-year-old woman was northbound, but in the southbound lane, at a high rate of speed on Illinois 4 at Decamp Road in Worden.

Police were called to the scene at 5:56 p.m. and found an open container of alcohol in the car. Records revealed the driver's license had been revoked for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Police did not release the name of the driver or her current condition.

State police continue to investigate the crash.
