Metro Transit leaders say MetroLink light rail trains and Metro buses are running at full capacity Tuesday morning after an apparent sick-out the day before.
More than 70 Metro bus drivers called in sick Monday morning, seven times the number who are sick on an average day, which totals about 10.
Workers have been involved in a contract dispute with Metro for more than a year. While union leaders denied that the high number of drivers who called off was a protest, the sick calls came on the day of the St. Louis Cardinals' home opener. That's one of the busiest days of the year for Metro commuters.
The apparent case of the blue flu caused delays of more than 30 minutes on the rail system Monday.
