Metro-east temperatures finally back to normal

The temperature will finally get back to normal Wednesday, when the high is expected to reach 66 in the metro-east under sunny skies.

That's right on the average high for early April in the St. Louis area, according to to National Weather Service.

Skies will remain mostly clear overnight, when the low will drop to 49.

On Thursday the high will be 75 under mostly sunny skies with gusting winds of up to 20 miles an hour. There is a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms forecast for Thursday night, when the low will be 49.

A 30 percent chance of thunderstorms remains in the forecast for Friday, when the high is expected to reach 69. The low will be 47.

The long-range forecast calls for high in the 70s for the weekend. But cooler temperatures are expected to move back into the area next week.

On Monday the high is expected to reach only into the low 50s.
